I like to select my area rug early on in the design process because it can really help to set the tone for the room. I’m really obsessed with moodier oriental style rugs as they add so more texture and interest to a room with neutral colours.

Below is a list of my current fave rugs at the moment.

1. Loloi II Layla Collection Area Rug in Olive/Charcoal

Love love love the moody vibe of this rug. Olive and Charcoal tones are a great neutral base to go with lots of different decor styles. I am obsessed with this option, which is why it’s number one on my list!

2. Chris Loves Julia x Loloi Jules JUL-05 Lagoon / Brick Oriental Area Rug

Another beautiful option from Loloi. This time a collab with Chris Loves Julia. Another darker toned option, this time with hints of “brick” red. I love pairing this option with rich cognac and sienna accents in a room.

3. Chris Loves Julia x Loloi Polly Collection Antique/Mist

A more traditionally neutral toned carpet. This is also another option from Chris Loves Julia x Loloi. I love the cross hatched pattern with the grey tones. Great for many different spaces. Would also be a great option in a gender neutral nursery.

4. Loloi Hathway Collection Area Rug Multi/Ivory

Shocker another option from Loloi that I love! I have this one in my living room and I have specified it for many clients. It’s such a great entry into a more ornate carpet if you’re not used to this much pattern. The base is a neutral beige with hints of indigo, pink and sky blue. It really warms up a space.

5. Jonathan Adler x Ruggable Inkdrop Black & Ivory Rug

A more contemporary option, this one is from Ruggable’s collab with Jonathan Adler. This rug comes in different colours but I’m partial to the Inkdrop Black and Ivory option. Looks great in a dining room against black dining chairs.
